She has facilitated workshops and classes of various mediums, including art and creative expression, jewelry and accessory design classes, mixed media art, and fashion styling classes throughout the United States and the Virgin Islands.
She devotes her time to teaching people how to wrap their hair into fabulous head coverings using scarves, fabrics, and textiles. Drawing on her own hair experiences and background, she has developed a fun, interactive workshop as a platform for teaching and encouraging others on styling headwraps with confidence. She targets those who are avid lovers of fashion, but with a special focus on those who have experience(d) hair loss as a result of medical reasons.
Imani meets women privately who are undergoing chemo treatment who seek options and support needed to embrace their journey of hair loss. She assist with finding select materials and non-medical products to enhance their confidence.
Imani Aisha creates spaces of intimacy where participants can break down the psychological issues around hair loss.
Imani is based in St. Louis, Missouri. She travels to present her workshops to empower women with confidence and advocate for health equity in undeserved populations. Her health topics and messages are specifically tailored to her audiences around Cancer, Alopecia, Lupus, and HIV/AIDS.
Imani is currently working to secure a non-profit status for the Art of the Headwrap so that future classes will be free to those women who have hairloss as a result of medical reasons.
